Make Acquisition Suggestions

In order to serve the discipline construction of the university and make good use of the funds of books, the library opens multiple channels to welcome book acquisition suggestions. This endeavor aims to improve the standard and quality of our collections to make it satisfy the teaching and research demands of the university. The faculty and students are encouraged to join in the literature resources construction of the library. Through these channels, you can make an acquisition suggestion to access materials you want. Your suggestions in line with the teaching and research demands of our university will be considered and appreciated by the Acquisition Department of the Literature Recourses Construction Center of the library.

Notes:

  • Please check our collections before you make an acquisition suggestion. The library may not purchase what you recommend if there are already no less than three copies (one copy in the case of any large book) of it.
  • What you recommend should meet the discipline construction and teaching and research demands of our university.
  • The books and periodicals you recommend should conform to the collection scope but not be available in the library or not up to the specified copies.
  • The information of a recommended book or periodical, such as title, author, ISBN, press, publication year, and price, should be given as precisely as possible.
  • The library will decide whether to purchase the recommended item or not based on its acquisition standards, annual book acquisition plan, and factors like funds, existing disciplines of the university and its collections.
  • Once your suggestions are accepted, the library will contact a supplier as soon as possible.Since it certainly takes some time to place an order, catalogue and shelf the book,do forgive us for any inconvenience caused.

Channels for Making Acquisition Suggestions:

1. OPAC recommendation

Enter the library homepage –Log in“My Library”- Click on the "Readers' Acquisition Suggestion" - Click on the "Readers' Acquisition Suggestion" on the top left hand side—— Fill in and submit the Acquisition Suggestion Form with detailed information and recommendation reasons; or just browse the Subscription List and choose items in the list. 2. Suggestion by call:
