With the aim to better serve the discipline construction of the university, to make good use of the book funds, and to improve the collection level and the quality of academic books and periodicals so that the construction of literature resources can better meet the needs of teaching and scientific research of our university, and in order to encourage more teachers and students to participate in the construction of literature resources, the library has opened various channels to receive book acquisition suggestions. Through the channels, teachers and students can get information about relative literature and books, and make acquisition suggestions of Chinese and foreign language books suitable for teaching and scientific research of the university to the Acquisition Department of the Literature Resources Construction Center of the library.
Notices:
1. Before making acquisition suggestions, please check the books collection. In general, if the library has held the recommended general book no less than 3 copies and the large book no less than 1 copy, there is no need for repeated purchase of these items.
2. The recommended Chinese and foreign language books, periodicals and e-resources should be in line with the needs of the disciplines and professional setting, and of the teaching and scientific research.
3. The books and periodicals recommended to buy should conform to the collection scales and have not been collected by the library, or the collection of the item has not reached the specified copies.
4. The information of recommended books and periodicals (including name, author, ISBN, press, publication year, price etc.) should be accurate and detailed as much as possible.
5. The library will comprehensively consider many factors such as principles of selection, annual book acquisition plans, funds of literature purchase, and current literature collection of various disciplines and majors of the university to make acquisition plans.
6. Once the acquisition suggestions are adopted, the library will contact the suppliers as soon as possible. Since it certainly takes some time to place an order, catalog and shelf the book, please forgive us for any inconvenience caused.
Generally speaking, if the book cannot be found for two consecutive days after you make a request, your request will become null and void automatically. There are several reasons for this case:

The call number, with specific structure and meaning, refers to the number given by the library to books, which is usually printed on the label of book spine. In the library collection system, the call number of each book is unique, which can accurately position the needed book on the bookshelf, so it is the necessary code information for readers to find needed books. Readers can get bibliography information from the Bibliography Retrieving System, and find the book according to its call number.
Library catalogue serves as a significant tool for providing information of books, which can help readers in many aspects:
“Bibliographic Retrieval” comprises general (system default) and advanced search. By entering search terms in the upper search box on the general search interface, 6 optional search filters are given in the following “Limit Your Search” box:
On the homepage, such information is available as all kinds of paper collections and electronic resources, rules and regulations, services, lecture notices, and the guidance of using the library’s resources. The information above is one of the important approaches for readers to know our library.
